Hello Everyone! My name is Amanda. I am so excited to begin my first year teaching for Dance and Cheer Stars and am proud to say I will be teaching ballet and lyrical. I began dancing around the age of six and haven't stopped since. I have competed in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and hip hop, been a member of numerous dance programs, cheered all four years of high school, was captain of my high school cheer team and performed in the NFL Pro Bowl halftime show while in high school. My dance career has thrived and I have been very blessed with many accomplishments. I previously danced for the arena football team, the Stockton Lightning, as a member of the Shockwave and was awarded a captain position my second season. My biggest accomplishment thus far has been dancing professionally for two seasons with Football's Fabulous Females, the Oakland Raiderettes. Dancing professionally has been a dream come true and I feel very lucky to have had that experience. Aside from dancing professionally, I have previously volunteered as the director of a high school dance team and have appeared as a guest judge at a local schools' cheer and dance team auditions. Dancing has been a major influence on my life and I can't imagine life without it. I am a strong believer in being capable of what you set your mind to and I hope to instill that in my students. There is a lyric from the song, I Hope You Dance, that motivates me to work hard. "When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance," - Lee Ann Womack. Thank you so much for allowing me to share my love for dance with the DCS children. Let's DANCE!
